Tomato Butter Pasta
4C Panko Seasoned Panko Bread Crumbs / 4C Homestyle Grated Parmesan Cheese / Tuttorosso® San Marzano Style Hand Crushed Tomatoes in Puree with basil and sea salt
Ingredients:
GARLIC BREAD CRUMBS
1/2 cup 4C Panko Seasoned Panko Bread Crumbs
1/2 pound pancetta or thick cut bacon, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp salted butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 tsp salt Salt and pepper
1/4 cup 4C Homestyle Grated Parmesan Cheese
salt to taste
TOMATO BUTTER SAUCE
1 (28 ounce) can Tuttorosso® San Marzano Style Hand Crushed Tomatoes in Puree with basil and sea salt
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup sweet onion, finely chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp sugar
4 tbsp butter, cubed
1/4 cup dry white wine, (optional)
1 lb large tubular pasta
1/2 cup 4C Homestyle Grated Parmesan Cheese
Directions
Garlic Parmesan Bread Crumbs
- In a medium skillet on medium low heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and the 4C Panko Seasoned Bread Crumbs. Stir frequently until bread crumbs are fragrant and golden brown. Remove to a bowl and add the 4C Homestyle Grated Parmesan cheese. Toss well to combine. Add salt if desired. Wipe skillet with paper towel and set aside.
Pasta and Tomato Butter Sauce
- Boil a large pot of salted water for pasta.
- While water is heating, over medium heat in the same skillet used for the breadcrumbs, add 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil.
- Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook, stirring frequently until mixture is fragrant and translucent. 1-2 minutes. Add the crushed red pepper flakes.
- Add the white wine (if using) and cook for 30 seconds
- Add the Tuttorosso® San Marzano Style Hand Crushed Tomatoes in Puree with basil and sea salt, butter, sugar and salt. Bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and cook for about 20 minutes or until flavors blend and sauce is slightly reduced, stirring occasionally.
- While sauce is simmering, cook pasta to al dente according to package directions. Drain well and transfer to a large bowl.
- Taste and season sauce with salt and pepper as desired.
