| 4C Foods
Corp. is a family-owned business that can be best described
as steeped
in tradition, yet well-positioned for the future. Like many
family businesses,
4C Foods has a rich and colorful history.
Unlike many family businesses, the company's original hallmarks
- product and packaging innovation, commitment to quality and
service, and a sense of teamwork among all those in the "4C
family" - are still highly evident in 4C Foods' third generation
of family leadership. |

John
Celauro, Founder |
4C Foods has experienced
tremendous growth since its modest beginning in 1935, without straying
far from its roots. In fact, 4C Foods continues to operate in a state-of-the-art
plant located not far from the original storefront where it was founded
over six decades ago.
It all began in 1935, when John and Anna Celauro immigrated to the
United States. He opened
up an Italian specialty store with 3 other immigrants who also had
their last names begin with the letter C. The sign on the storefront
read 4CCCC. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Celauro decided to go it alone.
He repainted his sign, removing the last three C's from the marquee,
leaving it to read 4C and it has remained the company name ever since.
The cheese business thrived in Mr. Celauro's grocery store. Being
the fastidious man that he was, Mr. Celauro didn't like the idea of
people touching his products for sale. He decided to pre-grate the
cheese and offer it in vacuum-packed jars thus beginning the sideline
business of selling grated cheese from his grocery store. With the
cheese becoming quite successful, 4C branched out into selling breadcrumbs
- both plain and seasoned - using the family recipe of spices and
100% imported cheese. It was not long before the breadcrumbs, like
our cheeses, were a hit!
In 1970, 4C diversified its product line through the purchase of Ideal
Tea Packing Co. The product line consisted of iced tea mix, dehydrated
soups, and coating mixes. Since then, 4C Foods has been the innovator
in the iced tea mix business with their forward thinking in packaging,
canister sizes, and most importantly, flavors.

4C continues
to grow with our eye on future trends: bringing 4C Light Iced
Tea featuring Splenda® (as opposed to nutrasweet) to the
market for a delicious low-calorie alternative for the whole
family as well as Green Tea with its fantastic flavor and antioxidant
benefits. It looks as though the past 70+ years has just been
the beginning of something big. |
